2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302

Well, you could look at this as just another review of a car that has people and other automakers wondering. What am I talking about? That would be the 2012 Mustang Boss 302.

There are many things I could say about this car, from its 444 horsepower to driver adjustable suspension. As you’re probably aware, this Mustang comes in two stages. The standard Boss 302 that you can add Recaro seats and a Trosen 3:73 limited slip differential. This is great for those wanting a car with heritage and few race ready components.

However, for those wanting the first mentioned and more or in other words “Mild to Wild” there is the Boss 302 Laguna Seca. This Boss is the ultimate purpose-built track Mustang for the street. It includes brake-cooling ducts, a front-air splitter to help with down-force, a gauge package to monitor engine temperature, oil pressure and track numbers and rear seat delete with cross-car X-brace.

Another awesome item is a key that you can get, called “Track Key“. This key will alter some 300 parameters in the drive train module for more aggressive track performance. Ford only wants those who have this key to use it for the track – “Ya, Sure, I promise“!! So, as I said at first, I could keep going on about these cars and what their capable of.

As for the other auto manufactures such as BMW and Audi getting their @!%$ handed to them on the track for thousands less, I’m going to go out on a limb here, and say, “Way to go for an American car with the dreaded “Live Rear Axle”.

I hope when Ford brings forth the all new Mustang in 2014 they remember all this car can do with old yet tried and true refined technology. Personally I hope that the next Mustang will remain just that “MUSTANG” not a car that just has the name. ~~Jason Herritz – Berge Ford
